Food Safety & Hygiene FETAC Level 4

Training Duration: Course is delivered over 20 hours. Eighteen hours tuition and one hour and a half hours for the examination.

Certification: Successful participants will receive a FETAC Level 4 Certificate.

Assessment Summary:

  • Written Examination 40%
  • Portfolio Of Course Work 60%.

Written Examination:

Mode: Centre based with external moderation by FETAC.

Format: Ten multiple choice questions, all questions to be attempted. Eight short answer questions, five questions to be attempted.

Portfolio of course work:

Mode: Centre based with external moderation by FETAC.

Components: Four assignments and their associated reports related to specific learning outcomes as indicated. Candidate must answer any three of the questions set. Where four questions are answered the best marks are the official marks for the purpose of the assessment.

Course Objective:

  • Participants will gain a clear understanding of the legal and company requirements for food hygiene and safety.
  • Know the hazards that affect food safety in their business.
  • Be familiar with the general rules of good hygiene.
  • Understand the principles of HACCP and how they are applied to control of food hazards in their company.

Anyone who wishes to gain knowledge on how to safely work with food.

  • Why Food Safety System based on HACCP.
  • Pre Requisite requirements.
  • Components of a HACCP plan.
